On Tuesday, January 26th, the boys travelled to Clinton to take on the Huskies of Morgan. This figured to be an evenly matched game, as both teams came in with close to 500 records, Morgan at 5-5, and Coginchaug at 5-4.
The game stayed tight throughout the first half, as the Huskies took a 15-12 lead after the first period, and kept the lead at 26-24 at the half. But early in the third period, Morgan used a 13-0 run to stretch the lead from three points (30-27) to 16 (43-27), and the Devils would get no closer than eight points the rest of the way, as the game ended in a 63-45 victory for the Huskies.
Cam Powers led the Devils with 16 points, and shared the rebounding lead with Kyle Wyskiel with five. Wyskiel scored three. Hunter Jameson pulled in three rebounds and scored ten points. Jack Murphy added six points, also blocking five shots and grabbing four boards. Kyle Judson was the leading assist man with four, and also scored three. Griffin Murphy scored four and grabbed three rebounds, Connor Salva scored three, and Jake Sapia had three rebounds and two assists.
